Hi there, I am Sofia

A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually unfolded into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Portugal wasn't in the master plan. Similar to many international moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — fresh systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Routine chores felt more intricate than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of hands-on learning. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, met other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built MintyPlanetAtlas
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Portugal.
